In January 2005, the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands sponsored a forum on the use of novel treatments for addiction and other mental health problems in men and women involved in the criminal justice system. This includes over 2,000,000 citizens with a high frequency of mental disorders including addictive disorders. With the support of the Sunnylands Trust, the forum papers were published as a monograph in the September 2006 issue of the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment. The researchers are now conducting a multi-site trial of this treatment in the criminal justice system.
